Complaining about Spinson, in order

There is a genuine complaints process behind every UK gambling licence, and it has teeth. It also has an order, and skipping to the regulator — the step most people reach for first — is the one move that reliably wastes weeks, because the regulator does not settle individual disputes.

First, is it a complaint or a query?

Most problems are queries, and they belong with support: a payout still moving through its stages, a bonus that has not shown up, a document sent back for a clearer photograph. Each has its own page here — a cash-out in pending, a bonus that never credited, a refused document.

A query becomes a complaint when the answer is wrong, absent or unreasonable. Naming it too early burns goodwill; never naming it means the clock that matters never starts running.

Stage one: Spinson’s own procedure

Every UK licence holder must operate a complaints procedure. So the first formal step is with the operator, through the channels on the support page.

Be explicit about it. Use the word complaint, set out what happened with dates and amounts, say what outcome you are asking for, and keep it in writing wherever you can — if you use chat, save the transcript before closing the window. What you want from this stage is a final response, because that is the document that unlocks everything after it.

Stage two: independent adjudication

If the final response does not resolve matters, or eight weeks pass without one, the dispute can go to alternative dispute resolution. ADR is independent of the operator, free to you, and mandatory for the operator to be signed up to.

Which provider covers Spinson is named in the operator’s own terms and in its entry on the Gambling Commission’s public register. Check it at source rather than relying on a third party’s claim — including this page, which deliberately does not name one it has not verified.

Come prepared. ADR assesses a documented dispute, so assemble the dates, the amounts, the screenshots, the final response and a plain chronology before you file. An adjudicator’s decision binds the operator in a way no support conversation does.

Stage three: the regulator, about conduct

The Gambling Commission at gamblingcommission.gov.uk wants to know when a licensed operator behaves badly, and it acts on that information against the licence. It will not arbitrate your case or return your balance.

So report to it when the substance is operator conduct — terms applied inconsistently, safer-gambling duties ignored, verification used as an obstacle rather than a check. That report runs alongside adjudication rather than replacing it.

Keep records from day one

Anyone who has carried a complaint through will tell you it turns on evidence. Dates and times of transactions, exact amounts, which route was used, screenshots of balances and error messages, and the full text of what support said. Rebuilding all that from memory months later is where most complaints lose their force.

Where this site stops

Spinson Play is an independent guide, not the operator and not your representative. We cannot see your account, contact the operator for you, or influence any stage above — the about us page explains what this site is and how it earns money.

If the real issue is less one dispute and more how much is going out, that needs a different kind of help: GAMSTOP blocks every UK-licensed site at once, GamCare runs a free confidential helpline, and the responsible gambling page covers both.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Gambling Commission recover my money?
No. It regulates licence holders and acts on what it learns about their conduct, but it does not arbitrate individual disputes or return funds. Independent adjudication is the route that looks at your case.
Does independent adjudication cost me anything?
No. Alternative dispute resolution is free to the player, and every UK-licensed operator is required to be signed up to a provider.
When can I escalate past the operator?
Once the operator has given its final response, or once eight weeks have passed without one.
